Brazos County’s Precinct 3 Justice Of The Peace Opens A Temporary Office Following Winter Storm Damage

Brazos County’s precinct three justice of the peace is now operating out of the county administration building.

JP Rick Hill told county commissioners Tuesday that they have started the process of catching up with five missed days of hearing truancy cases.

The JP 3 office in College Station sustained water damage from the winter storm, resulting in the move to downtown Bryan for the next six to eight weeks.

During his appearance, Hill also gave commissioners an update on proposed state legislation affecting JP operations.

Original story, March 1 2021:

If you have business with the Brazos County precinct three justice of the peace, that business has been suspended as a temporary move is underway to downtown Bryan.

Winter storm damage at the JP 3’s College Station office moved those operations to the Brazos County administration building at Texas and 28th.

An exact day to reopen the JP 3’s office has not been set, but it is hoped that will happen before the end of this week.

News release from Brazos County:

They will be operating out of the Brazos County Administration Building, 200 S. Texas Avenue, in suite 126, which is the former Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace courtroom (1st floor, next to Commissioners Court). As this process includes moving the entire office and setting up computers, etc., they hope to be operational by the middle of this week, but an exact date is not yet determined.
