The College Station city council at its last meeting agreed with city staff to spend another $822,000 dollars in federal pandemic relief grants.

$411,000 thousand will go to rent and utility assistance through third party non profit agencies.

Community services director Debbie Eller says those third party organizations have to demonstrate the ability to meet federal requirements before her office submits a proposed agreement to the council.

Another $411,000 thousand will be spent on economic development assistance for small businesses to retain employees. The deadline for the first round of applications from businessowners is January 6.
