Texas A&M Fans Gearing up for a Different Kind of Game Day at Kyle Field

Texas A&M football fans should expect a very different game day atmosphere this fall, one filled with masks and social distancing.

The Aggie athletics department has unveiled new rules and regulations for Kyle Field in hopes of combating the spread of COVID-19.

Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facilities Kevin Hurley says fans will be required to wear masks at all times, even during the game. The only time patrons will be allowed to remove their masks is when they’re eating or drinking.

Signage and stickers have been placed throughout the stadium to aid in social distancing.

There will also be changes on the field. Yell Leaders will no longer be allowed on the sidelines, and will interact with fans via platforms at field level.  In-game performances, such as the Aggie Band halftime show and the firing of the cannon, will be pre-recorded and played on the stadium’s Jumbotron.

Kyle Field is one of the largest football venues in the country, will be limited to just 25% capacity, or around 25,500 fans.

The Aggies begin their 10-game, SEC-only schedule on Saturday, September 26th at home against Vanderbilt.

Kick-off is at 6:30 p.m. on 1620/94.5 WTAW & radioaggieland.com.
