The 2020 College Football season could be in jeopardy.
That’s according to a report from ESPN, which says commissioners from all Power-5 Conferences met last night to discuss their concerns over playing during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Big 10 Conference, which is comprised of mostly midwest teams, is reportedly leading the charge for a canceled fall season.
The Big 10 was the first league to implement a conference-only schedule for 2020, and the other Power 5 conferences, including the SEC, followed suit.
The Mid-American Conference became the first FBS conference to cancel its fall season Saturday night.
In light of the recent reports, several high-profile athletes, including Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, held a conference call of their own last night.
The group, using the Twitter hashtag #WeAreUnited and #WeWantToPlay, issued a statement calling for the NCAA to establish universal health and safety protocols, as well as guarantee players who opt out of the season a year of eligibility.

The group also stated their goal is to establish a College Football Players Association, guaranteeing a dialogue between athletes and officials.
