Another illegal trash fire in College Station…this one on Tuesday behind city hall near Thomas Park…results in more education by firefighters instead of issuing a ticket. CSFD reports a neighbor noticed flames and smoke close to a house on Bolton Avenue. Firefighters extinguished a backyard fire where furniture and trash was being burned.

College Station firefighters responded to a pair of fires Monday night involving electric transformers. Multiple 9-1-1 calls reported seeing sparks and flames off University west of the freeway. While no structures caught fire, that’s how CSFD responded because the transformers were near buildings. Crews also watched for grass fires igniting under the power lines.

And College Station firefighters were sent to a high water rescue during last weekend’s flooding rains. That’s after an Uber driver backed up his vehicle into a ditch and felt his vehicle may continue to slip into where the ditch contained water. A tow truck driver pulled the vehicle out of the ditch.
