Bryan School Board Discusses Student Supervision

Allegations of student violence at Davila Middle School in November turned out to be unfounded.

The board was concerned about the absence of adult supervision. David Stasny was among the trustees asking Superintendent Mike Cargill if there are consequences for teachers and others who leave students unattended.

Cargill says building principals have the authority to discipline staff on the spot, including termination.

The superintendent or Shields did not reveal what if any personnel action was taken for the absence of adult supervision at Davila.
