Thanks to the coronavirus, two local government meetings scheduled for Monday and a third on Tuesday means elected members and their employees will not be in the same room. And public input will be received remotely.
According to a city of College Station blog post, Monday’s special council meeting begins at 3 p.m. with an executive session, which is closed to the public. That’s followed by the public portion of the meeting, which proposes an extension to the city’s coronavirus disaster declaration. Citizens who want to comment must register before the meeting starts by calling 979-764-3500 or emailing CSO@cstx.gov. Written comments also may be emailed to CSO@cstx.gov. According to the Bryan school board agenda, the public may access Monday’s meeting, which starts at 6 p.m. by calling 979-209-1135 and by entering the following PIN code: 589 909 478#. Bryan ISD is providing only the audio of the meeting to the public of what will be a video conference involving board members and administrators. Those wishing to speak at the BISD meeting, the agenda has these instructions: If you wish to address the Board of Trustees on either an item on the agenda or a nonagenda topic, you must send an email to bisd_digitalmeeting@bryanisd.org ten minutes prior to the beginning of the meeting. In your email, please state your name and the subject matter of your comment. When the Board reaches the Public Comment/Citizen Participation item on the agenda, the Board President will read all comments aloud for the Board to hear. The content of your written comments cannot exceed 3 minutes when read aloud. To the extent practicable, all other public comment rules will be followed.
The Bryan city council is holding a special meeting Tuesday at noon, where some or all members will be participating by video or teleconference.
