CORRECTION Regarding Crash That Caused A BTU Power Outage Last Sunday

WTAW News has a correction about the details of a crash last Sunday in west Bryan that caused a three hour power outage for about 1,100 BTU customers.

According to Bryan police, a vehicle travelling on West Villa Maria failed to maintain a single lane, left the roadway, and struck a pole. The driver was admitted to the hospital, where on Tuesday morning he was in stable condition. The driver was ticketed for failing to maintain a single lane, and investigators report alcohol may have have been a factor.

Bryan police investigated another crash last Sunday around one in the morning west of the downtown area. 30 year old Karina Ortiz of College Station is accused of driving a car that struck a house on Congress Street north of William Joel Bryan. Ortiz remained in jail Tuesday following her arrest on charges of DWI and failing to leave information after a crash causing more than $200 dollars in property damage. Ortiz is also being held in jail for immigration authorities.
