Texas A&M Faculty Senate Discussion Whether To Add Plus And Minus Designations To Letter Grades

Ten years ago, the Texas A&M faculty senate considered adding plus and minus designations to letter grades, an idea that was not implemented following student opposition.

The concept was discussed during the faculty senate’s last meeting.

A&M faculty members have dealt with plus and minus grades at other schools.

No decision whether to pursue the idea was made following the conversation, which was conducted during the senate’s committee of the whole section of the November 11th meeting.

There is no mention of this item on the agenda for the senate’s December 9th meeting.
