Neither the city or county would assume any liability for either the project or the loan.

Goodwill held a public hearing November 12 at their current retail store in Bryan.

The Bryan council approved Goodwill’s request without discussion during a special meeting last Thursday.

Brazos County commissioners approved Goodwill’s request without discussion during Tuesday’s meeting.

The new store will be built on the south side of Boonville, west of Briarcrest and Carter’s Creek.

The 24,600 square foot building would house a store, a donation/processing area, and a job connection center.

According to records from the Brazos Central Appraisal District (BCAD), Heart of Texas Goodwill acquired the property in April 2019.

The market value of the six acre property, which will be removed from the tax rolls, is $424,250 dollars.

The prior owner of the property, according to BCAD, had an estimated tax bill of about $10,170 dollars.
