A College Station couple was awakened at four in the morning last Sunday by a stranger banging on their door and yelling. That resulted in the couple locking themselves in an upstairs bedroom and calling 9-1-1. According to the College Station police arrest report, an found a man ripping shards of glass out of a window frame. There was blood smeared on the back patio concrete, the back door, a wooden fence, and walls. While the temperature was 44 degrees, the officer noted the man was sweating. 23 year old Lamont McKenzie of College Station was taken first to a hospital, then to jail following his arrest for burglary and misdemeanor criminal damage. According to online records, McKenzie was out on bond while awaiting trial from an arrest in July on misdemeanor charges of making a terroristic threat against a family member and possessing marijuana. As of Thursday night, McKenzie remained in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $12,000 dollars.
A witness who was up at a quarter of four Wednesday morning told College Station police they saw a man and a woman take tires off the roof of a SUV that was parked at an apartment complex off Anderson and north of Southwest Parkway. An officer spotted the suspect’s car a couple of blocks away. According to the arrest report, the suspects told the officer they had permission to take the tires. The victims say they did not give permission. And the officer spotted tools that he considered commonly used by burglars. 25 year old Michael Crenshaw and 46 year old Tina Contreras of Bryan are out of jail after posting bond on vehicle burglary charges. Contreras is also out on bonds awaiting trials in separate cases on possessing more than one pound of methamphetamine and filing a false police report.
A Navasota man in the Brazos County jail awaiting trials in three misdemeanor cases is now accused of stealing a car in College Station last year. According to the College Station police arrest report, investigators matched one fingerprint from the car to 18 year old Dekeimus Jessie. And a CSPD detective says Jessie is a suspect in numerous stolen vehicles…where he is accused of stealing a vehicle in Navasota, drive to B/CS to commit vehicle burglaries, and steal another car to drive back to Navasota. Jessie denies stealing a car last November from a College Station apartment parking lot, and says he does not know how the fingerprint got there. Jessie, who is held on bonds totaling $25,000 dollars, is accused in separate cases of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, evading arrest, and two counts of criminal trespassing.
