Texas A&M transportation services has issued traffic advisories for those planning to see the Union Pacific (UP) locomotives Friday afternoon, something that will also impact motorists in the area of Wellborn and F&B Road.
F&B will be closed between Wellborn and Agronomy Friday between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
No parking is allowed along roadways. Free parking is available in Lot 88 starting Friday afternoon at 4:30. Enter Lot 88 from Agronomy Road between Raymond Stotzer and F&B.
UP’s steam locomotive Big Boy No. 4014, which will lead the No. 4141 George H.W. Bush engine, is expected to arrive in Bryan Friday around three p.m. Public viewing takes place between 4:30 and six.
Another public viewing on Friday is in Navasota between 1:15 and 1:45.
The engines leave Bryan Saturday morning at eight, and make stops in Hearne from 9:15 and 9:30 and Jewett between 11:30 and noon.

Those planning to check out the historic Union Pacific (UP) Big Boy steam engine in Navasota or Bryan Friday afternoon will also see a second famous engine.
UP and the George and Barbara Bush Foundation have announced the historic engine No. 4014 will be pulling the George H.W. Bush locomotive No. 4141 that led last year’s funeral train.
A major announcement will be made Friday by the railroad, the foundation, the Bush Library and Museum, and Texas A&M to boost the number of library visitors and regional tourism.
As previously reported, the steam engine has been traveling the UP system in recognition of the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad.
The world’s only operating Big Boy locomotive and engine 4141 will be in Navasota for public viewing Friday afternoon between 1:15 and 1:45, and in Bryan Friday afternoon for public viewing between 4:30 and six in the area of Wellborn and F&B Roads.
The steam engine leaves Bryan Saturday morning at eight and will make stops in Hearne between 9:15 and 9:30 and Jewett between 11:30 and noon before stopping in Palestine at 2 p.m.
