Bryan Council Approves Traditions Owner Request To Pursue Buying More Land, Over One Councilman’s Objection

The Bryan city council at its last meeting, voted 6-1 to give consent to the owner of the Traditions development to pursue buying more land for future development.

Traditions owner Spencer Clements says this does not affect existing operations at the Traditions golf club, the Stella Hotel, Lake Walk, ATLAS, and Parc at Traditions.

Councilman Mike Southerland voted no after getting no support to delay action until the governing body discussed what he called a contract.

The council’s action followed a prior review in executive session as members of the Bryan commerce and development board.
