College Station Council Holds Second Tax Rate Public Hearing

The College Station city council’s second public hearing on raising the property tax rate in the fiscal year 2020 budget drew five opponents.

Michael Nibert says he’s part of a group of more than 10,000 Next Door app members.

 

Michelle Lee read some of the comments from a 280 member Facebook group who also oppose the increase.

 

The College Station council votes on the tax rate increase of nearly eight percent the evening of September 24th.

The council’s last meeting also included a public hearing on the city’s proposed FY 2020 budget The council is scheduled to take final action on the budget on September 26th.
