College Station ISD Bus Struck By A Pickup Friday Afternoon

There was a delay getting home for some College Station school district students Friday afternoon.

That’s after a collision between a school bus and a pickup truck at the intersection of Greens Prairie Road and Greens Prairie Trail.

According to College Station police, the driver of the truck ran a stop sign and struck the bus as it was turning.

Between 20 and 30 students were on board. CSPD reports two or three students complained of pain and were taken by their parents for medical treatment.

College Station firefighters report treating one person at the scene, who was not transported.

CSPD’s investigation indicated the driver of the pickup was distracted, and that may have contributed to the crash.

The driver was ticketed for disregarding a stop sign.

CSISD reports most of the students were picked up by family members. Only a handful waited for a replacement bus.
