GWANGJU, South Korea – Former Texas A&M diver Jessica Macaulay earned the bronze medal at the 2019 FINA World Championships in the 20-meter high diving event. Macaulay won Britain’s first high diving medal of the FINA World Aquatics Championships.
In the first two rounds, Macaulay did a reverse somersault pike to earn a score of 55.90. In her second dive, she completed a back three somersaults to score 90.00.
Holding her spot in second place, Macaulay did a forward flying somersault pike earning 63.70 points to add to her total of 209.30 on her third dive.
In her final dive of the competition, she completed a reverse three somersaults to finish with 295.40 total points. Macaulay was just 2.65 points behind Australia’s Rhiannan Iffland who scored a 298.05 to win gold and Mexico’s Adriana Jimenez who earned silver with a 297.90 score.
