A barking dog waking up its owner led to Bryan police arresting a local man for burglary of an unlocked vehicle.

The call Monday morning just before 5:30…while it was raining…was to the Krenek mobile home park on Finfeather.

According to the arrest report, a resident watched a man pushing a shopping cart that appeared to be full.

Officers found the man in the parking lot and learned that he had consumed methamphetamine.

That led to the arrest of 39 year old Richard Buskirk Jr. of Bryan for public intoxication.

While Buskirk was patted down in jail, a detention officer found a drivers license and a voter card from Mexico.

Both cards belonged to another resident of the mobile home park who told officers someone took his wallet from his unlocked SUV.

The arrest report did not indicate if officers found a shopping cart.
