College Station ISD Superintendent Announces Filling Final Principal Vacancy

The College Station school district has all its principal positions filled for the upcoming school year.

Formal action will be taken by the school board the Tuesday after next on filling the last vacancy.

Superintendent Clark Ealy has announced who will be the second principal at Spring Creek elementary.

Laura Casper-Teague comes to CSISD from suburban Houston, where she has spent the last four years as the assistant principal and instructional supervisor at an elementary in Clear Creek ISD.

Casper-Teague is taking over for Stormy Hickman, who moved to CSISD’s central office.

Laura Casper-Teague will be the new principal at Spring Creek Elementary CSISD Superintendent Dr. Clark Ealy announced today.

Casper-Teague is replacing Stormy Hickman, who was recently hired to be the district’s director of talent management for the human resources office. Hickman was the first principal at Spring Creek when it opened in 2015.

The hire is expected to be approved by the Board of Trustees at its June 18 meeting.

Casper-Teague has spent the past four years as the assistant principal/instructional supervisor at McWhirter Elementary in Clear Creek ISD.

“Ms. Casper-Teague’s instructional knowledge as well as her experience with students with disabilities, English learners and students from poverty made her an exceptional candidate for this position,” Ealy said. “She will be the right person to build upon the foundation that Stormy has laid for Spring Creek.”

Prior to her current position at McWhirter, Casper-Teague served stints as a district-level resource and inclusion instructional specialist and a special education team lead in Clear Creek ISD.

A native of Michigan, Casper-Teague came to education profession after a 10-year career as a quality assurance manager and supply quality engineer.

Casper-Teague earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 1994, a post Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from Michigan State University in 2005, a Masters of Arts in Education in 2008 from Michigan State University and is currently working toward a Doctorate in Professional Leadership/Literacy at the University of Houston.
