Update:

The Brazos County district attorney’s office reports a suburban Bryan man now faces a charge of aggravated kidnapping with the intent to commit sexual assault.

19 year old Justin Batten Jr. is jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $150,000 dollars.

Original story:

Bryan police used surveillance video to find and arrest a man for sexually assaulting a woman Monday during the midnight hour in the area of Boonville Road and Austin’s Colony Parkway.

19 year old Justin Batten Jr. is accused of grabbing a woman he did not know around the neck and forced her to go behind a dumpster.

The victim was talking on the phone at the time of the attack. Her friend told police the call was cut off and she tried calling back.

According to the arrest report, the video showed a flashing light at the same time the friend was calling the victim. That was followed by Batten driving away.

A short time later, officers arrived at Batten’s home. After search and arrest warrants were obtained, Batten was arrested less than 12 hours after the assault.
