Friday Afternoon Fire At College Station Storage Unit Extinguished Quickly

From the College Station fire department:

On Friday afternoon, the College Station fire department responded to a structure fire at the Storage Station in the 200 block of Manuel Drive.

On arrival, crews found heavy smoke and 2 storage units on fire.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire while checking for extension of fire to adjacent units.

Crews were alerted that there may be occupants in the storage units, and primary and secondary searches were performed. No persons were found.

Fire was brought under control in 17 minutes due to the quick action of 38 firefighters from College Station and Bryan Fire Departments.

A portable battery charger was found to be the source of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
