Brazos County Sheriff Receives First Threat In 23 Years On The Job

A Bryan man awaiting trial on a charge of making a terroristic threat to a family member more than two years ago is now accused of making the first threat ever against Brazos County sheriff Chris Kirk.

36 year old Dustin Havens is accused of posting on the sheriff’s campaign Facebook page he would destroy the credibility of 22 officers unless a the charge was dropped.

Kirk says he has full confidence in his deputies, officers, and other employees.

The sheriff also emphasized that he has a formal complaint process in place for his constituents.

Havens is out of jail after posting a $4,000 dollar bond after his arrest on a charge of of coercion of a public servant.

According to the arrest report, Havens told a sheriff’s investigator he would forget about all the problems over the years if the terroristic threat charge against a family member goes away.
