Just after 1 a.m. Friday, a Bryan police officer driving on the freeway came upon a pickup truck on its side near the southbound Highway 21 exit.

After the driver was taken to the hospital, a nurse in the emergency room gave the officer a pill bottle containing what the officer believed was three baggies of methamphetamine along with 22 Alprazolam pills. According to the arrest report, the driver received a prescription the day before for 30 Alprazolam pills.

After that, the driver told the officer he had smoked a bowl of meth and took four times the amount of Alprazolam he was supposed to.

According to the arrest report, the driver said the rollover crash happened after the back end of his truck broke loose.

The officer believed the driver meant to take the Highway 21 exit off the freeway, noting “The tire marks in the wet grass were obvious, coming from the exit ramp for Highway 21 back towards Highway 6.”

33 year old Charlie Hall, Jr. was arrested for driving while intoxicated with one prior conviction and possession of a controlled substance.
