Texas A&M Faculty Senate Receives An Update From The VP/Research

As early as next year, Texas A&M could reach a milestone in research funding.

Comments from vice president of research Mark Barteau at the last A&M faculty senate meeting included the possibility of passing the $1 billion dollar mark.

Last year’s research funding reached $922 million, and the year before that $900 million dollars.

The presentation from Dr. Barteau, who is in his second year at A&M, detailed the operations of the division that included what’s happening with high performance computing, technology commercialization, and promoting what is being done inside and outside the flagship campus.
