Two Brazos County District Court Criminal Cases Lead To Prison Time

A Bryan man who admitted to threatening to kill his girlfriend nearly two years ago, has now admitted to strangling the same woman last May. For both crimes, 22 year old Devonte Farguson was sentenced to five years in prison. He was given credit for the seven months he’s been in jail since he was arrested last August.

A Bryan man in jail since last June is headed to prison for failing to comply with requirements as a sex offender. The Brazos County district attorney’s office also reports 27 year old Jabrodrick Roberts is awaiting trial on charges he’s accused of committing that led to violating probation for indecency with a child. That resulted in a five year prison sentence for the sex crime. Roberts is charged with stealing an Xbox from a Bryan store in August of 2017, and in February of last year during a traffic stop giving a fake name to a Bryan police officer then eating marijuana. The judge also agreed with prosecutors that during Roberts probation, he didn’t appear for drug testing and failed to complete community service hours among other things.
