College Station Police Report Gunfire In Northgate And On University Near The Freeway

From College Station police:

On 03/10/2019, at about 0158 hours, a large fight broke out in the 100 block of College Main. This fight involved two opposing groups and required a large Police presence to keep under control. A few minutes later at about 0301 hours, two gun shots were heard by officers coming from the 200 block of Lodge. Officers were on scene in moments but no one was there and no one appeared to be injured. More Officers arrived, along with assistance from University Police and the crowds were dispersed from Northgate. Evidence of the gunshots was recovered later but there were no reported victims in this case.

At 347 hours another report of shots fired occurred on University Dr. near SH 6. The caller advised a male was shooting a gun from a moving car. At approximately 0400 hours officers were advised of a gunshot victim at a local emergency care center. Officer responded to the location and learned the male received a gunshot wound from a bullet being fired into the vehicle he was riding in. The victim was treated and released from the hospital.

At this time it is believed this is an isolated event between two opposing groups of people. This case remains under investigation and no other information will be released at this time.
