College Station’s Ninfa’s Restaurant Closes

College Station’s Ninfa’s Mexican restaurant has closed after 25 years.

Owner Mario Rodriguez told Sportstalk host Chip Howard “it was time to pull off the Band-Aid”, after considering the move for awhile.

Employees were told Wednesday night.

Rodriguez, a member of the family that established Ninfa’s in Houston, set up in College Station in what is now the TJ Maxx shopping center on Harvey Road.

He moved to his building along the freeway in 2007.

Rodriguez says he will sell the building and equipment to another restaurant.

And he will continue operating his San Antonio Riverwalk restaurant, Maria Mia’s.
