HOUSTON – Texas A&M Softball fell to Houston, 9-3, Wednesday night at Cougar Softball Stadium.
The Aggies (9-6) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead as Riley Sartainblasted a two-run homer in the first, her fifth of the season, before Kylie George plated Blake-Ann Fritsch on an infield single in the second.
After scoring its first run in the second, Houston (12-5) rallied to take the lead in the third, recording six runs. The Cougars added to their advantage in the sixth on a two-run homer.
Kendall Potts was saddled with loss as the righty allowed five runs on two hits and three walks in two innings. Kayla Poynter threw 3.1 innings of relief to close out the game.

T1| Kelbi Fortenberry led off the game with a single through the left side, before Riley Sartain belted her fifth homer of the season. A&M 2, UH 0
T2|With one out, Blake-Ann Fritsch singled to left and advanced to second on a fielding error. Following a sacrifice bunt by Ashlynn Walls, Fritsch scored on an infield single from Kylie George. A&M 3, UH 0

B3| The Cougars took the lead, scoring six runs on three hits. UH scored its first run on a wild pitch, before an infield single by Savannah Heeber plated Lindsey Stewart. A bases-loaded walk gave Houston the lead prior to Maya Thomas’ two-RBI double. A bases-loaded walk by Stewart capped off the scoring. UH 7, A&M 3
B6| Abby Odneal hit a two-run homer to right, extending the lead to six. UH 9, A&M 3
