A Bryan man who appeared before juvenile authorities 48 times between the ages of 12 and 16 has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for five adult crimes.

19 year old Jonathan Prado pleaded guilty to committing two home burglaries, three counts of possessing and/or selling the synthetic marijuana K-2, and evading arrest.

Assistant Brazos County district attorney Ashley Martin says Prado let the judge decide on punishment instead of accepting a plea agreement.

Martin says the punishment reflects the escalation of Prado’s criminal activity into the community at large.

Martin says the two home burglaries were at the same location on the same day last April. The first time, Prado took knives, guns, and ammunition. The second time, he attempted to take a gun safe when he was discovered by the victim.
