Pedestrian Struck By A College Station Police Vehicle Is Treated And Released At A Local Hospital

From College Station police:

On 12/19/18 at approximately 1838 hours, a College Station Police Officer in a marked patrol vehicle was involved in an auto/pedestrian accident at the intersection of Southwest Pkwy and Texas Ave S.

The officer was on routine patrol and not responding to any call for service at the time.

As the officer made a right turn onto southbound Texas Ave S, a juvenile pedestrian entered the crosswalk to cross from the west side of Texas Ave S to the east side.

The officer did not see the pedestrian.

The officer’s vehicle struck the pedestrian which knocked him to the ground.

The officer immediately stopped and began rendering assistance.

Additional officers as well as personnel from the College Station Fire Department also responded.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-incapacitating injuries and released.
