Barbara Bush Book Wall Dedication

The floor-to-ceiling Texas flag book wall at The George was dedicated Wednesday in honor of The First Lady of Literacy, Barbara Bush.

Neil Bush, co-founder of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, was on hand for the unveiling of his mother’s plaque next to the wall.

“I can’t think of a more suitable recognition than at a hotel named George to have a book wall named Barbara,” said Bush.

Neil Bush says his mother’s life was dedicated to service and helping people realize their fullest potential through literacy.

“Mom was 100% right in suggesting that if you can’t read at an age appropriate level, you can’t possibly realize your fullest God given potential in life,” said Bush.

To the right of the book wall, is a plaque dedicated to Barbara Bush with her quote “My wish is for every parent and child to experience the joy of reading and a lifetime of learning.”
