Bryan City Project Update Includes Continuing Delay By Suddenlink To Finish Work On South College

Bryan city manager Kean Register’s update to the city council on city projects included a continuing delay by Suddenlink to finish new sidewalks along South College.

Register says a paperwork snag related to a corporate restructuring at parent company Altice is preventing Suddenlink from moving overhead lines underground.

Mayor Andrew Nelson responded to Register’s report by asking the manager in jest “Are you having trouble with Direct TV or just Suddenlink…just kidding.”

Register says Frontier Communications is making progress on moving their overhead lines underground.

The manager said the city has posted signs on overhead poles to let the public know the reason for the delay.
