UPDATE: Two Crashes Close The Freeway In College Station

Two crashes closed the freeway in College Station on Wednesday.

Wednesday morning, four people were injured and traffic was backed up for almost three hours Wednesday morning following a four vehicle crash in the northbound lanes.

College Station police reports a semi attempting to slow down for an unrelated wreck struck three other vehicles.

A correction to an earlier post, that CSPD tweeted the four who were injured were transported with injuries that were not life threatening.

Northbound traffic was moved to the service road between the Harvey Mitchell and Harvey Road exits.

Most of the time the northbound lanes were closed was due to the time it took to remove oil spilled from the semi onto wet pavement that came from morning showers.

Wednesday afternoon, a crash in the southbound lanes on the bridge over Emerald Parkway moved traffic to the service road for about 20 minutes. CSPD reports a car hydroplaned and struck a SUV. No one was injured.
