City Of College Station Garbage Truck And City Employee Are Struck Near The New H-E-B

The driver of a city of College Station garbage truck is hospitalized with potentially life threatening injuries following a crash Thursday morning on Wellborn Road near the new H-E-B.

According to a College Station police Facebook post, a three vehicle crash involved the garbage truck, an SUV, and a car.

The driver of the garbage truck was outside his vehicle at the time of the crash to empty a trash receptacle.

The driver of the SUV slowed down while approaching the truck, but the driver of the car struck the SUV, flipping the SUV onto its roof.

The car then struck the garbage truck and the truck driver.

The drivers of the SUV and car were alone in their vehicles. Neither were injured.

Northbound lanes of Wellborn Road are expected to be closed until around 3 p.m. Thursday.

CSPD was notified of the crash at 10:44 a.m.
