Average Time To A Texas A&M System Degree Is Going Down

Students at Texas A&M system universities are taking less time to complete their degrees.

Board of regents member Elaine Mendoza of San Antonio presented a report at their last meeting in College Station.

Mendoza, who chairs the regents academic and student affairs committee, says the average time decreased from 10.11 semesters in fiscal year 2012 to 9.86 semesters in FY 2017.

Mendoza says while that was a small change, it was enough to save students $1.9 million dollars in tuition and fees and the state $2.04 million in appropriations.
