College Station School Board To Consider New Elementary School Boundaries In October

College Station school board members plan to spend the month of October redrawing elementary school boundaries.

Board members Carol Barrett and Mike Nugent emphasized this was about ONLY elementary campuses, and will NOT include intermediate schools.

New boundaries are the result of the opening of River Bend elementary a year from now.

Administrators will make their initial recommendations October 1.

Deputy superintendent Mike Martindale says that will include their ideas on grandfathering.

There will be an e-mail to send comments, at least two public hearings, and at least five board workshops.

College Station school board members and administrators want to make as clear as possible that the next round of campus boundary changes will apply only to elementary schools.

The proposed schedule, to be considered by the board for final action in September, includes two public hearings and five board workshops. An e-mail address will also be available for providing opinions.
