Bryan Fire Department Engine Taking A Retired Houston District Fire Chief On His Last Ride

Funeral services are Friday afternoon for a retired Houston firefighter will include transporting his body on a Bryan fire department engine from Bryan to a cemetery in Grimes County.

Bryan deputy fire marshal William Bouse says 98 year old Earl McWilliams…who retired to Bryan…made the request to chief Randy McGregor.

Bouse says many Bryan firefighters got to know McWilliams after he attended BFD banquets and other functions.

According to the funeral notice, McWilliams…who graduated from Bryan’s Stephen F. Austin high school…will be transported from Northview Baptist Church on Tabor Road to Pankey cemetery…which is located between Iola and Bedias.

Bouse says a honor guard from the Houston fire department will also be participating in the service.
