A Bryan man on parole for his fourth DWI conviction was involved in a crash last Saturday night on Villa Maria near Texas that led to another drunk driving arrest. 56 year old Philip Beran was released from jail on Monday after posting an $8,000 dollar bond. According to the arrest report, after Beran failed field sobriety tests he refused to provide a blood sample. The sample was obtained after police received a court order. According to online records, Beran pleaded guilty to his fourth DWI in October 2010 and was given a 20 year prison term. And according to online records, the arrest marked Beran’s 19th time in the Brazos County jail since August of 1986.
The 17th time a 30 year old Bryan man is in the Brazos County jail in 13 years, he is accused of injuring and holding hostage a woman who wanted to end their relationship. Christopher Cyrus was arrested after the woman said he cut her arm deep enough to receive medical treatment, strangled her, slapped her in the face several times, and kept her from leaving their apartment.
