Texas 4-H State Horse Show Is Returning To Brazos County

The Texas state 4-H horse show is returning to Brazos County after an absence of more than 30 years.

That’s after county commissioners approved an agreement with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension at this week’s meeting.

The general manager of the Brazos County Expo, Carl Kolbe, thanked county commissioners and the Bryan and College Station city councils for supporting a five year contract that starts next year.

The county, the cities, and the Experience Bryan/College Station agency are giving a combined $147,000 dollars a year in hotel occupancy tax money to AgriLife Extension, which is moving the week long event from Abilene.

Kolbe expects 2,000 hotel rooms will be occupied the last week of July for this event.
