Two Men Return To Jail & Dump Truck Driver Is Arrested For DWI

A Bryan man awaiting trial on a vehicle burglary charge from June of last year is back in jail. Bryan police responding to a disturbance early Sunday morning led to chasing a vehicle that left a home north of Williamson Park. The car went from the end of Franklin Street to the Family Dollar store on Coulter near Texas…a distance of about one and a half miles. The driver and three passengers were all placed in handcuffs. The arrest report noted only the driver was arrested. According to BPD, 29 year old Steven Tates has 33 active suspensions on his drivers license, along with four prior convictions for driving with an invalid license.

Bryan police making their 21st call to a northside home since January 11th regarding ongoing domestic issues landed a common law husband in jail for the second time in three weeks. 25 year old Christopher Christmas of Dime Box…formerly of Bryan…is accused of violating bond conditions following his arrest July 11th on charges of assaulting and unlawfully restraining his common law wife. According to the latest arrest report, he is accused of violating bond by making threatening phone calls and going to the woman’s home.

DWI arrests from last weekend included a the driver of a dump truck that crashed off Leonard Road west of Bryan and struck a tree. According to the DPS arrest report, the person who reported the wreck followed the dump truck to a mobile home. The trooper wrote the dump truck had a tree limb sticking through the driver side of the windshield, other parts of the tree limb were stuck in the top sides, and bottom of the truck. And the front left front tire was blown out, meaning the driver went home driving on one rim. 43 year old Rogelio Bahena-Loredo is out of jail after posting bond following his arrest for DWI with a breath alcohol level above .15, which is almost twice the legal limit.
