A charter bus with members of the U.S. Army headed to Fort Hood Sunday received assistance when their charter bus broke down in Robertson County.
According to a Facebook post from the Robertson County sheriff’s office, the soldiers were given a ride to the Hearne Airport by deputies and members of the Hearne police department, Hearne fire department and the Texas A&M forestry service.
From the airport, the soldiers resumed their trip to Fort Hood.
More than four hours before kickoff of Saturday’s Texas A&M-Texas football game, multiple College Station police officers respond to the report of a loud party near the campus. A post on CSPD’s Facebook page estimated the crowd at 600 on Aurora Court, a dead end street which is located between A&M Consolidated Middle School and the Grace Bible Church Anderson campus. The post said the unauthorized and pre-planned party organized by A&M fraternities had live bands, food vendors, portable restrooms, and a significant amount of alcohol. Organizers applied but were denied a city special events permit for reasons that includes safety and logistical concerns. One of the organizers was arrested for violating a city ordinance. 22 year old Walker Lanier of College Station was released after posting a $300 dollar bond on the municipal court charge. Several others were arrested on various charges as officers worked to disperse the crowd and restore order to the area. The CSPD Facebook post said it took several hours to clear partygoers from the neighborhood, which was left littered with trash. CSPD’s arrest report identified the participating fraternities as Kappa Sigma, Sigma Chi, Pi Kappa Alpha, and Delta Tau Delta. After the game, CSPD officers returned to break up a second party that was attended by an estimated 250 people.
Law enforcement activity during the Texas A&M-University of Texas football weekend included 34 incidents involving public intoxication. College Station police arrest reports shows 19 public intoxication arrests in the Northgate district on Friday and Saturday night (November 29 and 30). On game day in and outside Kyle Field, Texas A&M police, a Bryan police officer, and a precinct three deputy constable combined for 15 people either being arrested or being ejected from the stadium for public intoxication. Before Saturday’s game, Texas A&M police tweeted details of a university rules violation before the game involving a man and his dog riding a longhorn and another man riding a horse. Both men agreed to leave campus. During Saturday’s game, Texas A&M police arrested two men after getting in the game without tickets. They used fake construction credentials and were wearing reflective vests and hard hats. Both were charged with criminal trespassing. After Saturday’s game, a man on a concourse one floor above a Texas A&M officer poured a beer and spit on the officer. 21 year old Colton Smith of Orange was arrested for felony assault against a police officer, harassment of a public servant, and public intoxication. Smith remained in jail as of December 1st in lieu of bonds totaling $23,000 dollars. College Station police arrest reports from Friday and Saturday nights in the Northgate districts include 27 arrests for disorderly conduct and seven for resisting arrest. There was only one disorderly conduct incident where there was a mention of the A&M-Texas football game. From all the CSPD weekend arrest reports at Northgate, where 61 people were arrested, there were references to only three people issued tickets for minor in possession in alcohol and two for giving alcohol to a minor. Saturday during the midnight hour on University in the Northgate district, the driver of a Corvette that ran out of gas was arrested for possessing a vape pen containing THC and misdemeanor of marijuana. Former Texas A&M football player Isaiah Spiller was released from jail after posting bonds totaling $9,000 dollars. Spiller told College Station police according to CSPD arrest reports that he bought $30 dollars of marijuana from someone in Houston and that he was holding the vape pen for his girlfriend. The arrest reports do not say what happened to the Corvette.
The Brazos County public information office has released the identity of an escapee from the juvenile detention center. News releases say 16 year old Ar’jzion Dovontay Dumon Robertson was being held for state authorities on property crime charges when he escaped Friday morning (November 29). The county released the name and a photo with the permission of 472nd district court judge George Jerrell Wise. County officials continue their investigation of the escape. News releases have not said if anyone was injured. Original story: Someone escaped from the Brazos County juvenile detention center escaped Friday morning (November 29). The only identifying information provided by juvenile services director Linda Ricketson about who escaped is that they are a Brazos County resident. A news release from Brazos County did not say if anyone was injured. The escapee was awaiting transfer to a state facility on an undisclosed charge. Due to the juvenile’s age, no personal details can be shared other than this person is local to Brazos County and was awaiting transfer to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
