From College Station ISD:
Omar Espitia was named the new principal for A&M Consolidated Middle School today by College Station ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Clark Ealy.
Espitia was selected from a pool of internal and external candidates to replace Jeff Mann, who was recently promoted to the position of CSISD Director of Instruction and Leadership Development.
The CSISD Board of Trustees is expected to approve the hire at its next meeting.
“Omar is genuine and hard working,” Ealy said. “Omar’s experience at the high school level and the intermediate level will help him excel in this leadership position. He understands where these students have come from in intermediate school and where they will need to be able to go in high school. I am looking forward to seeing the culture that Omar creates at AMCMS.”
Espitia, a 1995 Graduate of A&M Consolidated High School, has been an assistant principal at Consol since 2013 after serving three years in the same position at Cypress Grove Intermediate.
Prior to becoming a campus administrator, Espitia spent four years as a U.S. history teacher in Humble ISD, following six years of Service in the United States Marine Corps.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business Management from Southwest Texas State in 2002 and his Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State in 2008.
