Recapping Arrests Of Ten Men In Six Cases

Three College Station men who were out on bond from their arrests six weeks ago on charges of a vehicle burglary south of the Texas A&M campus are in jail again. According to the Bryan police arrest report, the trio admitted to entering an unlocked home on March 13th and taking two rifles, an X-box, a television, a laptop, and an Ipad while the victim was taking a shower. One of the suspects had been at the victim’s house to buy marijuana. The guns were seized by College Station police, and most of the electronic items were sold at local pawn shops. One of the suspects told police they were not going to harm anyone with the guns, but were going to do some recreational shooting. 18 year old Dillan Slaughter, 21 year old Brandon Ladell Richardson, and 22 year old Vernon McDonald were in jail as of April 5.

Failing to signal before changing lanes landed two Bryan men in jail on charges of possessing at least $10,000 dollars of methamphetamine. The arrest report from the department of public safety does not give the location or the time of day when the car was stopped on Tuesday. The trooper noted in the arrest report there was a butane torch sitting in the driver’s lap and the driver stated he was released from jail earlier this year for meth possession. That led the trooper to ask to search the car. When the driver refused, the trooper brought in a drug dog from the Bryan police department. That led to the discovery of four bags of DPS believes to be meth. Arrested on the felony drug charges were the passenger…29 year old Joshua Hall, and the driver…38 year old William Bradford Spiller…who according to online records is in jail for the 23rd time in almost 17 years.

A Bryan man convicted three times last year for driving with an invalid license went to jail again on the same charge. 25 year old Marcel Oliver was released after posting bond and paying more than $3,400 dollars in fines and court costs from tickets in past cases. According to the arrest report from Bryan police, Oliver was driving a vehicle that was stopped because the front seat passenger was also wanted by authorities. The officer who made the arrest also noted Oliver has 13 suspensions on his drivers license. The passenger, 27 year old Ronnie Ray Williams of Bryan, was arrested for a parole violation and warrants for evading arrest twice with a prior conviction and drug charges.

A Bryan man awaiting trial for drunk driving with two prior convictions is back in jail on another DWI charge. 41 year old Ryan Freeman was arrested by College Station police Tuesday afternoon following a short chase in a stolen vehicle. According to the arrest report, the officer overheard Freeman telling jail staff he had drank two bottles of vodka. Freeman was being held on bonds totaling $30,000 dollars.

A suburban Houston man is in the Brazos County jail, seven days after driving away at a high rate of speed from a traffic stop in Bryan. The circumstances of catching 28 year old Brandon Gilbert of Missouri City are not stated in his arrest report. But it is noted Gilbert was wanted on seven warrants from the precinct two constable’s office, four from the sheriff’s office, and two from Madison County. Eight of the 13 warrants are for traffic related offenses. Other charges includes failing to pay child support and violating tattoo and body piercing regulations. The traffic stop in Bryan was after an officer saw Gilbert’s car in the left turn lane continuing straight through an intersection.

Two Bryan residents getting together for the first time since high school led to a theft report being made to Bryan police. The visitor, 25 year old Jose Gerardo Ramirez, is accused of taking three rings from the bathroom shelf of the victim’s home. According to the arrest report, Ramirez said the victim told him to sell the rings for drug money, which the victim denies. Two of the three rings were recovered from local pawn stores. The third, a high school class ring, has not been found. Ramirez, who remains in jail in lieu of bond, is also awaiting trials for drunk driving with a prior conviction and driving without a license with a prior conviction.
