College Station’s Deputy City Manager Is Departing

The week before the departure of College Station’s city manager, comes word that the city’s deputy manager is also leaving.

Mayor Karl Mooney says Chuck Gilman is headed to the San Jacinto River Authority, a position that Gilman did not apply for.

The mayor also says Gilman will serve as interim manager for up to 60 days starting next week.

Mooney says the city council will meet next week to start the discussion of what lies ahead. But the mayor added it’s fortunate the city has some great department heads.

Gilman is in his fifth year as deputy manager and is in his 11th year with the city of College Station.
