Have You Seen These Theft Suspects?

From College Station police:

On Tuesday, March 20, 2018 the College Station Police Department received a report from a citizen of a possible scam that had taken place in College Station.

A female advised that on this date at approximately 11:45 AM, she was at Wal-Mart in College Station when she was approached by another female who asked for a ride to a location in Bryan, Texas.

When the victim stated she did not know how to get to that location, a male approached and offered to show them the way.

Since he did not have a vehicle, the male suspect said that he would ride with them.

While riding in the vehicle, the female suspect told the victim that she had won the lottery, but the victim could not claim the prize because she was not the rightful owner of the winning ticket.

The female stated that the victim needed to pay approximately $3,000.00 to be able to claim the ticket.

The male suspect then offered to help pay some of the amount if the victim also helped.

After the male suspect produced a “bag with a large amount of money”, they drove to a local bank where the victim withdrew money from her account.

A short time later, the female suspect faked an illness, and asked the victim to drive to a local pharmacy.

When they arrived at the pharmacy, the male suspect snatched the victim’s money from her hand, stating he was going into the pharmacy to buy some medicine for the ill female.

Both suspects then exited the vehicle and quickly left the area.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600.
