Construction of Wellborn Middle School Remains Behind Schedule As Construction Starts On River Bend Elementary

The last meeting of the College Station school board included an update on the construction of Wellborn Middle School and River Bend Elementary.

Facilities director Jon Hall reported while construction at WMS remains behind schedule, classes will start on August 20th.

Hall thanked the city of College Station for its assistance, including a temporary occupancy permit for August 17th and getting special permission before that date to move furnishings into the new building.

Hall says the new middle school is still within its $51 million dollar budget.

At River Bend, Hall reported the new elementary campus was on schedule at 15 percent completion and within its budget.

Both buildings are part of CSISD’s 2015 voter approved bond package.
