Another CSISD Student Is Arrested On A Terroristic Threat Charge

For the third time this month, a College Station school district student has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge of making a terroristic threat.

A CSISD spokesman told WTAW News the incident took place at Cypress Grove intermediate school, and there was no lockdown at the campus.

Neither CSISD or College Station police, which issued a news release, revealed the age of the young man who was arrested.

According to a CSPD news release, a threat was made Tuesday afternoon…accusing the suspect of threatening to shoot other students.

The news release did not indicate if a weapon was found.

Update: A CSPD spokesman reported Tuesday night that no weapon was found.

CSPD states additional charges are possible.

News release from College Station police:

On February 27, 2018 at approximately 2:40 PM, officers with the College Station Police Department received information regarding a possible terroristic threat.

Officers were advised of a student with the College Station Independent School District who had made a threat to shoot the other students who were attending school.

When officers arrived on scene, they identified the student that made the threat.

After further investigation, officers believed the student, who is a juvenile, made a credible threat with the intent of placing the public or a substantial group of the public in fear of serious bodily injury.

The juvenile was subsequently arrested for the offense of Terroristic Threat.

Terroristic Threat (Penal Code Section 22.07(5)): A person commits an offense if he threatens to commit any offense involving violence to any person or property with intent to place the public or a substantial group of the public in fear of serious bodily injury

Terroristic Threat is a Class “B” Misdemeanor punishable by confinement in jail for a term not to exceed 180 days and a fine not to exceed $2,000.

There is currently no danger to the public.

This case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible.
