Before, during, and after the mass shooting at a high school in Florida, there’s been an increased security presence at Bryan High School. That’s after the school district notified police last week of a threat that was supposed to be carried out on Thursday.
The school district removed the students who made the threat last week.
According to a BPD Facebook post, additional officers have been at several undisclosed campuses since Tuesday.
The BPD Facebook post also stated “Another rumor, which has been circulating, of a gun found on campus is false.”
Among those on the Bryan High campus on Thursday was the school district’s communications director. Brandon Webb said “It’s very calm, it’s very orderly, kids are happy in changing classes”, and he saw students “who were worried about homework and grades and exams and not their safety”.
Bryan police continue their investigation of what Webb described was an unsubstantiated threat.
