Aggie Men’s Tennis Sweeps Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. – The No. 7 Texas A&M men’s tennis team improved to 4-0 on the young dual season with a 7-0 win at Tulsa Wednesday evening at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Aggies opened the match capturing the doubles point in convincing fashion as Arthur Rinderknech and AJ Catanzariti along with Patrick Kypson and Valentin Vacherot claimed 6-1 wins. Kypson and Vacherot topped Louis Corker and Boriss Kamdem on court one followed by Rinderknech and Catanzariti besting Jaron Hing and Majed Kilani on court one.

Juan Carlos Aguilar secured the third point of the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win on court five over Corker followed by the clincher from Barnaby Smith on court six over Mitchell Pritchard by a score of 6-2, 6-3.

No. 41 Arconada rebounded from dropping the first set to Hing, 6-3, to win the second set 6-2 and securing the Aggies fifth points with a 6-2 third set on court three. The scoring continued for the Aggies as Kypson rebounded from dropping his first collegiate set to hand No. 82 Joshua Goodger his first set losses of the season to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on the top court. Rinderknech completed the sweep with a 7-5, 6-4 win over No. 56 Kilani on court two.

The Aggies remain on the road for the next couple weeks, taking on No. 2 Ohio State on Feb. 9 in Columbus, Ohio followed by a trip to Houston to face No. 25 Texas Tech at Downtown Club at the Met on Feb. 11.
