A Bryan man entered guilty pleas in Brazos County district court last week (December 4) to six crimes. Online jail records show four of the guilty pleas by 33 year old Gilberto Castillo Jr. were for stealing four guns on December 23, 2023. Castillo was sentenced to two years in prison. As part of a plea agreement, Castillo also admitted but prosecution was barred for evading arrest in December 2020 and misdemeanor possession of marijuana in May of 2019. The jail records also shows Castillo has been in jail since January 9, 2024. In May of 2018, a suspect in a burglary north of Kurten was stopped by the victim’s neighbor after the neighbor fired two shots into the ground then held the suspect at gunpoint with a rifle.
