HOUSTON (AP) _ Retail gasoline prices across Texas rose 4 cents this week to reach an average $2.48 a gallon.
AAA Texas on Wednesday reported the increased cost statewide followed the national trend, where the price per gallon rose 6 cents to hit $2.63.
The association cited rising oil prices, with the cost per barrel topping $70 this week.
AAA Texas says Amarillo had the most expensive gasoline, at $2.57 a gallon. Houston had the cheapest price at the pump, at $2.43 a gallon.
The group, in a statement, said most industry experts expect oil prices to rise as the economy recovers through 2009 and into next year.
